About Us
We are a group of teachers who love the Orff Schulwerk, and are committed to promoting this Approach in Macau.
From our childhood:
Music lesson was always about singing against music books;
Learning music means learning musical instruments;
Exams are compulsory for learning musical instruments.
Then we grew up. We love music and are teaching children, and we are asking ourselves, is there any other way to make children fall in love with music? Then, fortunately, we met Orff Schulwerk - the Orff Approach, and fell in love with it! Because, this pedagogy -
- makes music lessons full of excitement and joy;
- focus on the process of learning more than the results;
- makes children happy;
- lets everyone enjoy and fall in love with music!
We are determined to promote the Orff music teaching method. Through teacher training in schools, workshops, parent-child interactive concerts, etc., we hope to plant the seeds of Orff Schulwerk in the hearts of Macao people. It starts with music education for children, and then music will become part of everyone's life! We also hope that through the establishment of this association, more like-minded people will be gathered to contribute to the reform of music education in Macau!

Mission of MOSA

to spread out Orff-Schulwerk to the public, the parents and the schools.

to unite Orff-Schulwerk educators, music and art educators in Macao

Course development
About IOSFS and
the Establishment of MOSA
International Orff Schulwerk Forum Salzburg (IOSFS) is located at Salzburg, Austria, inside the Orff-Institute of Mozarteum University. It is a non-profit-making registered association, and the international network of Orff-Schulwerk Associations worldwide, associated schools and related institutions. Every year in July, IOSFS will organize the international Forum, which is a great chance for Orff Schulwerk practitioners from all around the world to learn and share among each others. New ideas are being exchanged during the forum, where a certain theme related to Orff Schuwerk is set to be discussed. IOSFS is also publishing the "Orff-Schulwerk Heute", which is a bi-annual magazine concerning Music and Dance Education (Orff-Schulwerk).
Since 2015, we have been participating in this forum. We learned a lot about the Orff-Schulwerk, especially the development and philosophy. We also established valuable friendship with members from different parts of the world. The more we communicate with these friends, the more we are determined to establish the MOSA to promote the Orff Approach.
In July 2018, MOSA was officially accepted as a member in IOSFS. We are thankful to the board members who have helped us along the way, and will keep close contact with the IOSFS to make sure we are always on the right track. We hope to make a difference to the scene of music education in Macau!
